Agenda item #11: Consideration of submissions of States Parties as provided for in Article 5

The States Parties took formal decisions on the 4 States Parties’ requests for extensions of mine clearance deadlines.

Agenda item #12: Dates, duration and locations of future meetings

The President recommended for adoption the decisions concerning a post Second Review Conference meeting programme.  

In addition, the Second Review Conference agreed to designate Gazmend Turdiu, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania President of the Tenth Meeting of the States Parties and decided to hold the Tenth Meeting in Geneva the week of 29 November to 3 December 2010. Related to this decision Albania took the floor:

Agenda item #13: Recommendation for adoption of the final documents

The President recommended for adoption the Review of the status and the operation of the Convention, the Cartagena Action Plan and the Cartagena Declaration. In addition, the Second Review Conference endorsed the President’s Paper on the Establishment of an Open Ended Task Force with the mandate to develop terms of reference for an evaluation of the Implementation Support Unit.
